From Our Founders

Feed My People was founded in 1982 by Carol and John DeGuire to meet the growing needs of the poor in South St. Louis County. “We treat each person who comes to us for help with dignity. Besides their daily needs, we try to give them hope for a brighter future, and let them know that we care and that God cares.” says John.

Our primary goal was to provide food, but the need and opportunity to do more for our clients expanded our vision to include another office in Fenton MO, opened in 1989. This office moved to High Ridge in 1997 and serves those in need living in southwest St. Louis County and northwest Jefferson County. Serving 16 zip codes from the Mississippi River to Pacific at the Franklin County Line, and from I-44 to the Meramec River and beyond, Feed My People is one of the largest organizations of its kind in the St. Louis area.
